Step into some of the world’s most incredible wild spaces with your camera in hand. Our wildlife photography tours are built around encounters that are thrilling and photogenic in equal measure, whether it’s a herd of elephants roaming through a riverbank in Botswana, a tiger stalking through India’s jungle, or brown bears foraging in an ancient European forest. With the guidance of experienced photographers and local experts, you’ll learn to read the light, anticipate animal behaviour, and come home with images that feel alive.
Each trip is small, relaxed, and entirely built around photography. Expect small groups for full access to mentorship, tailor-made field-timing for golden hour magic, and landscapes that serve as immersive backdrops to your wildlife subjects. We’ll drop you right into the action, and bring out the best wildlife photographer in you.
On top of our photo safaris and wildlife photography workshops, we also offer wildlife photography and conservation volunteer opportunities. These are designed to combine photography with supporting local wildlife conservation efforts – great options for those who want to do their bit for a good cause!

Our photo tours and safaris will take you to the right place, at the right time, to get that epic shot. You'll be guided by a professional photographer, who will help you take your photography to the next level, and we keep our trips exclusive by traveling in small groups. Whether it's in Kenya's sprawling savannahs, Yellowstone's snowy interior, or the jungles of India, your journey will be filled with photography magic.
Why travel with usEach tour is designed to combine exceptional wildlife encounters with hands-on photography guidance. You’ll spend time in the field with professional photographers and expert local guides, learning techniques for capturing everything from fast-moving predators to subtle details in natural light. Expect small groups, flexible schedules around the best shooting times, and plenty of opportunities to refine your skills in truly wild settings.
Not at all. Our tours welcome photographers of all levels – from complete beginners to seasoned pros. Since we travel in small groups, your photography guide will be able to tailor their tutoring to everyone’s individual level, ensuring that you can learn at your own pace. The aim is for everyone to improve their photography while enjoying the adventure.
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a zoom lens is ideal – something that allows flexibility for both portraits and distant shots. A 70–200mm or 100–400mm lens is often perfect for wildlife. We’ll provide a detailed gear list before your trip, including recommendations for tripods, filters, and storage. If you’re unsure what to pack, our team is happy to advise.
That fully depends on the destination. In Africa, you might photograph elephants, lions, leopards and rhinos. In India, tigers take centre stage. Each location is carefully chosen for reliable wildlife sightings and unique photographic opportunities.
Yes! Many guests bring partners who simply enjoy travel and wildlife. While the tours are photography-focused, the experience – from game drives and scenic walks to cultural encounters – is designed to be rewarding for anyone who loves nature and adventure.
The best time depends on the destination and species you want to photograph. For instance, Southern Africa’s dry season (June–October) is ideal for big game sightings, while India’s parks are most vibrant from February to April. Our team can help you choose a trip that aligns with your interests and the best wildlife activity.
Most tours are comfortable and accessible, with optional walks or hikes depending on the location. You’ll spend much of the time in safari vehicles or boats, though some destinations – like gorilla trekking in Uganda – involve moderate to high intensity hiking. We’ll always outline the activity level clearly so you can choose the right adventure for you.
A photo safari is designed specifically for photographers – it follows the same idea as a regular safari, but with a stronger focus on creating time, positioning, and conditions for great shots. The pace is slower, vehicles are arranged for optimal viewing and shooting angles, and you’ll be guided by professional photographers who offer tips and support in the field. While a regular safari focuses mainly on spotting wildlife, a photo safari gives you the time and guidance to truly capture it. Here is a full blog about the difference between the two, in case you’d like to find out more.
It depends on the tour, but most have a maximum group size of six. This allows an exclusive experience, ensures there’s no competing for space when trying to get that great shot, and it means that there’s plenty of time for individualised tutoring by your photography guide.
Wildlife photography volunteer projects combine travel, conservation, and photography. You’ll join a conservation initiative – such as wildlife monitoring, research, or community outreach – and use your camera to help document the work being done. It’s a meaningful way to develop your photography skills while supporting real conservation efforts and experiencing wildlife up close.
Photo safaris tend to cost more than regular safaris because they’re designed for smaller groups, longer time in the field, and highly specialised guidance. You’ll be accompanied by professional photographers and expert local guides, often using private vehicles that allow more flexibility for positioning and time at sightings. The cost also reflects the quality of lodges, conservation fees, and logistical support needed to access remote, wildlife-rich areas – all of which ensure an exceptional photographic experience.
That said, we do offer some lower budget options for wildlife photography trips, like our wildlife photography volunteer projects.
We’ve compiled some wildlife photography tips by Alan Hewitt, a UK-based wildlife photographer, conservationist, writer, and workshop leader. Because we all know photographing wildlife isn't easy!
