Join us on a photography trip that brings you into the heart of Tanzania’s communities with your camera as the bridge. It’s an invitation to document everyday moments, local community initiatives, and the people driving meaningful change. With guidance from Anna Lusty, a seasoned humanitarian photographer, you’ll learn how to use visual storytelling not only to observe, but to support and amplify the work of local leaders.
Across Maasai communities, you’ll spend time with people doing grassroots social development and conservation work. You’ll learn about the goals of these projects and create images that will be donated to them, so that they have additional tools to tell their stories.
Open to photographers of all levels, the experience blends hands-on mentorship with meaningful encounters, helping you develop a documentary approach rooted in empathy and impact. The result is a body of work that grows from genuine collaboration and shared purpose.

None at all. The trip is open to beginners through advanced photographers. Anna Lusty provides hands-on guidance, theory sessions, and one-on-one feedback, so you can grow at your own pace.
The emphasis is on documentary and cultural photography, capturing daily life, community initiatives, and human stories with respect and consent. There will also be opportunities for wildlife photography during the Ngorongoro conservation day.
You’ll create images that are donated to the nonprofits we work with. These photographs are used for storytelling, fundraising, and advocacy, giving organisations a stronger visual voice and supporting their long-term impact.
Most nights are spent in comfortable 3-star lodges with hot showers and modern amenities. One night is spent camping in a Maasai village in clean, well-equipped traditional tents for a deeper cultural experience.
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with lenses suited for portraits and environmental shots is recommended. A laptop for editing, memory cards, and a backup drive are also useful. If you need guidance on gear, we’re happy to advise. We’ll give you more detailed advice if you need – just reach out!
Yes. Ethical photography, informed consent, and respectful collaboration guide every activity. We work directly with community leaders, and all photography follows local protocols and cultural considerations.
Our photo tours and safaris will take you to the right place, at the right time, to get that epic shot. You'll be guided by a professional photographer, who will help you take your photography to the next level, and we keep our trips exclusive by traveling in small groups. Whether it's in Kenya's sprawling savannahs, Yellowstone's snowy interior, or the jungles of India, your journey will be filled with photography magic.
