Penda Photography Competition – Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility
   This competition is open to photographers of all levels. By entering, participants agree that all submissions are their original work and do not infringe on the rights of any third party.
2. AI and Digital Manipulation
   Entries must be genuine photographic works. AI-generated images or images created primarily through generative AI tools are not permitted. Standard editing techniques such as exposure adjustment, color correction, cropping, and minor retouching are acceptable, but entrants must not add or remove significant elements or otherwise misrepresent the scene.
3. Submission Format
   • All entries must be submitted in JPEG format.
   • Submissions must use the Adobe RGB (1998) color space.
   • Each file should not exceed a size of 2MB.
   • Files must be named in the following format: [FirstName_LastName_Category_ImageTitle.jpeg]. Example: John_Doe_Wildlife_LionInSunset.jpeg.
4. Categories
   Participants can submit images to the following categories:
   • Wildlife
   • Landscape
   • People
5. Entry Process
   • All entries must be submitted via the provided entry form.
   • There is no limit to the number of photos participants can enter across each category
   • Entries will be judged based on creativity, technical quality, and relevance to the theme.
   • If your photograph is shortlisted for the final round of judging, you will be required to provide:
     (i) RAW files (e.g., .ARW, .CR2/3, .NEF, .ORF, .PEF etc.) or original, untouched JPEGs.
6. Previously Awarded Images
   • Entries that have won previous competitions or awards are eligible, provided that they are the original work of the photographer and meet all other requirements of this competition.
   • Information regarding previous awards should be mentioned in the entry description, although it will not affect the judging process.
7. Deadlines
   The deadline for submissions is December 10th, 2025. Late entries will not be accepted.
8. Copyright and Usage Rights
   Entrants keep full copyright to their images. By entering, you give Penda Photo Tours permission to feature your submitted photos, with credit to you, in our marketing and promotional materials. This could include our website, social media, newsletters, printed brochures, or exhibition displays, always with the goal of celebrating your work and promoting Penda Photo Tours. We may lightly crop or resize images if needed for layout, but we will never alter the integrity of your photograph. This permission is non-exclusive, so you are free to use and license your images elsewhere as you wish.
9. Judging
   The judging panel consists of experienced professional photographers. Their decisions are final. Winners and runners-up will be announced on January 20th, 2026, on Penda’s Instagram and Facebook accounts.
10. Prizes
    Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up in each category. Details of the prizes for each place can be found on the competition page.
11. Disqualification
    Any entry that does not comply with these Terms & Conditions will be disqualified. Penda Photo Tours reserves the right to disqualify any image deemed inappropriate or contrary to the competition’s ethos.
12. Data Protection
    We will collect personal data about you (and your parent/guardian where applicable) at the time of registration, and as otherwise provided in order to administer the competition, exhibitions, and all associated activities. Your information will not be shared with any third parties without your consent, unless required for the administration of the competition.
13. Ethical Requirements
    Entrants must ensure that their photographs respect the welfare of animals and their habitats, and comply with ethical standards. Images must not misrepresent reality, exploit animals, or harm their environment. Legal requirements, including permits for photography or drone usage, must be followed. Any violation may result in disqualification.
