Explore Cape Town’s mind-blowing landscapes and fascinating cultures through your lens, while getting photographic tutoring by a National Geographic photographer. Landscape photography and portraiture are woven into a seamless whole during this photography workshop in Cape Town.
Cape Town is arguably the world’s most beautiful city, topping travel bucket lists with its unique offering of spectacular scenery and cultural diversity. Whether you’re a landscape, documentary or travel photographer, Cape Town’s plethora of lineages and cultures, ocean bays and looming mountains, trendy eateries and gritty townships will tease your imagination and feed your creative eye. We’ll guide you through the Table Mountain National Park, Boulders Beach, Cape Point and Chapman’s Peak so that you may capture – with a fresh take – some of the world’s most photographed landscapes. This Cape Town photography workshop will spark your curiosity in new and different lives through a visit to a fiercely energetic but under-serviced township, time with local fishermen, and an exploration into the historically rich Cape Malay quarter. During this Cape Town photo workshop, we’ll show you the different dimensions of this incredible city.
Along the way, you’ll be accompanied by Tyrone Turner, a renowned National Geographic photographer, and Sarah Isaacs, a Cape Town-born photographer who knows all the hidden photographic gems the city has to offer. Tyrone and Sarah will be with you each step of the way, guiding and improving your photographic process through structured critique and editing sessions and one-on-one feedback. Tuition will include the technicalities of light and composition, post-processing and “softer” lessons in empathy, confidence and patience, essential for establishing trust with strangers. We’ll also cover a range of creative techniques, including light painting, low-light long exposures and motion blurs. We’ll tailor-make our tutoring to everyone’s individual needs, so that the workshop is both suitable and valuable for photographers of all levels.
